Founded in 1996 by the Lanasa family, The Breadery opened it's doors in Ellicott City, Maryland. Michael Lanasa and his wife Judy had a vision to create an old world bakery feel with healthy, wholesome whole grain breads made with natural ingredients.

In August 2011, The Breadery moved to Historic Oella located on the scenic trolley trail that runs from Catonsville to Old Ellicott City. The Breadery specializes in fresh milled whole grain breads and old world artisan breads. Muffins, sweet breads and cookies are also baked fresh every morning. Whole grain breads include fresh milling a high protein wheat that is milled at our Oella location. Fresh milling the wheat helps to maintain the wheat germ in the flour. Our Artisan breads are made with an old world fermentation process that helps develop extraordinary flavor.

The Breadery carries locally made gourmet food products to accompany your favorite baked goods along with an broad line of Stonewall Kitchen products, an olive oil and vinegar taproom and an extensive wine selection with a special collection of wines from family owned vineyards around the world.
